May 28, 1968 to March 18, 2025
On Tuesday, March 18th, Lourdes peacefully passed away at home surrounded by love to see her go to heaven. Lourdes has such a special place in all our hearts and touched so many peoples lives around her. She warmed the room with love & happiness, always positive, and seeing the good in all things. She cared so deeply for all her family & friends she had in her life, and it is such a gift to have her in all our lives and see her beautiful smile light up the room. Lourdes enjoyed the pleasures in life to their fullest and made things so special to those around her. She had such a deep love for dogs & all animals, travel, running & staying healthy, eating great food, riding her Yamaha Vino scooter, and most importantly - all the special moments she had with family and friends. Her close circles of friends from running/jogging, nurses/unit clerks, and cancer support group were all precious to her and she spoke highly of all of you. Lourdes adored our wiener dogs Jak and Charlie; they gave Lourdes incredible joy, and she spoiled them throughout their long lives with us.
Lourdes spent much of her early working life in retail and later in the medical field as a unit clerk in a variety of clinics & hospitals in Winnipeg. She was such an advocate to those patients she interacted with and ensured they were well taken care of.
As you all know, Lourdes had such a lengthy battle with cancer, and she was so strong throughout her whole journey with it. As serious as the cancer she had was, you often forgot she even had it at all with how well she continued to live her life and spread all her love to everyone. It was Lourdes’s wish to be at home and pass on quickly like an angel flying away; she got both her wishes Tuesday. As hard as her untimely passing is, she is at peace and surrounded by God’s love forever in the heavenly home he’s prepared for her. Lourdes always wanted people to remember her for her, not her cancer journey, or be sad for her. She will continue to present in spirit and watching from above to keep us all in line LOL; you know she is strong willed with the best of intentions & encouragement :), she will love to watch us from above enjoying all our lives till we see her again.
Lourdes asked I make a special recognition to all the medical professionals that she was so happy to be supported by. Each of you were very special to her and many of you remember working with her in the hospitals/clinics prior to taking care of her as one of your patients.
