Maria Thiessen (nee Teichroeb) Obituary
February 20, 1948 ~ November 20, 2025
Maria Thiessen, our dear mom, grandma and great grandma, was released from her suffering, and taken into the arms of her Savior, at Boundary Trails Health Center, on November 20th, surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her husband Diedrich Thiessen, a daughter in infancy, daughter-in-law Elsie Thiessen, granddaughter Amber Peters, her parents and nine siblings.
She is survived by her children, Jake Thiessen, Sarah (Neil) Penner, Ben (Anna) Thiessen, Agatha (Irvin) Wolfe, Tina (Jeff) Peters, 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Mom's faith was always a central part of her life. She was a prayer warrior for her family, and the joy of her life was taking care of her loved ones. Mom was a great cook, as kids we look forward to coming home from school to the smell of home cooked meals and fresh baking.
Mom had a kind heart and a loving spirit. She rarely complained and chose to focus on the good around her. Her positive attitude and cheerful spirit was a blessing to all of us. We all remember her cheery singing as she went about her day. She was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A funeral will be held on Monday November 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Maranatha Church in Winkler. Burial will take place after the service at the Schoenwiese Cemetery.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Home Care staff that help care for her at home as well as the nursing staff and all those who helped take care of Mom during her stay at Boundary Trails Health Center.
Donations may be made towards assisting the family with funeral expenses.
