Willingly and bravely, Marie blanketed by the strength of family went to meet Jesus on October 3rd, 2024.
Marie was blessed to have left a legacy here with us just shy of 95 years. This allowed her and us to see Marie the child, Marie the free-spirited career-oriented adult, Mom the strong woman juggling work and family, Mom the leader in creating hardcore family experiences and values, Marie the adventurer, Nana the rock in helping raise our children, and Nana the gentle and graceful lady who showed and allowed us to lovingly serve her.
This is Mom – hard working, a leader, decisive, and someone that naturally you felt deserved your utmost respect. Then there is Mom – do everything she could for you, warm, playful, adventurous. To get to know her you had to spend time with her, working or playing. It was her actions that showed her strength of character, her commitments to nurturing family, and her passion for being busy and productive.
Marie says thanks to all the lifelong friends who worked for and with her, to all her play buddies like the Kinettes, golf and cross-country ski partners, Fall Supper and church work groups, and all of the friends met while on adventures.
Marie said she was so blessed to have had best friends in her siblings and the families they raised together. Her sister Doris, Frank, and Family – a constant support and part of our family celebrations. Countless Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, In-laws, cousins all holding your very own special place in my heart.
Nana says to Bryce, Jennifer, Nikki, Amanda and Evan: Thanks for keeping me young and more importantly for sharing your lives with me. You so enriched my life beyond words. Even though my memory may be failing, one look at those new little ones, or playing a game with one of my great-grandchildren brought me true joy in reliving my own childhood.
A life committed to hard work and raising family peacefully at rest. With love and utmost respect she leaves to celebrate her legacy her children Gary (Kathy), Donna (Tom) and Deb (Paul), her grandchildren Bryce (Alannah), Jennifer (Peter), Nikki (Dylan), Amanda (Mark) and Evan (JayDee-Lynn) and her great-grandchildren Lucy, Max, Jack and Rylah.
Join us for singing, prayer, and funeral celebration Friday, October 11th, 3pm at St. Hyacinthe Parish in La Salle with fellowship to follow. Short internment and burial in Carman cemetery Saturday morning.
Mom loved cooking, loved serving, loved to see people fed. In lieu of flowers she encourages you to support a local foodbank.
