Edith Marie Olson, 96 of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Cavalier, ND, passed away on Friday May 22, 2026, at Morningside of Wilmington. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Cavalier, ND.
Marie was born on March 16, 1930, to Ole & Cora (Hauge) Skrogstad on the family farm near Edinburg, ND. She was raised on the family farm with her two brothers and three sisters.
On November 22, 1953, Marie married Gordon L. Olson of Cavalier they were married in Mountain, ND at the Vikur Lutheran Church.
Together Gordon & Marie raised three children: Nancy Kaye (Dr. Edward Adams) The Villages, FL; Kelly Laverne (Lisa) Windsor, CO; and Kurt Allan (Patty) Wilmington, NC.
Marie was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Pembina Co. Memorial Hosp. Aux. and the American Legion Aux.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ole & Cora Skrogstad, her twin sister Myrtle, and sisters Alice, Lillian and brothers Marvin & Olaf, great grandson David Kurt Williams, and husband of 57 years Gordon.
She is survived by her children & spouses, grandchildren E.J. (Lyndsie) Adams, Casey Adams (Khanh Bui), Hannah (Pat) Menne, Sarah (Grant) Williams, Katie Olson, Tyler Olson, Jason Johnson.
