Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday January 13, 2024 at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden. Private family interment prior to the service. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Salem Foundation Inc. or the BTHC Foundation.
Mary Bergen (nee Janzen)
1927 ~ 2023
On Wednesday December 20, 2023 our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away at Salem Home.
Mary was born July 25, 1927 to Jake and Sara Janzen in Haskett, Manitoba. She grew up in Rosengart with 8 brothers and 1 sister. Mary married the love of her life, Jake on June 5, 1955. They lived and farmed in the Fannystelle area till 1980, when they moved to Sanford. They called Sanford home for many years until 2016 when they moved to Winkler. In January of 2023, Mary moved to Salem Home. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her love of gardening and cooking was shared with the family, friends and the whole neighbourhood.
She is survived by children, Dan and Maryanne (April, Scott with children: Emily, Riley, Parker), Gloria and Robert (Tracy, John with children: Owen, David, Max), (Trisha, Warren with children: Alexi, Mya, Jerome, Jessie), (Tiffany, Ben with children: Hunter, Zoey), daughter-in-law, Leanne, brother, Chuck and brother-in-law, Peter Bergen. She was predeceased by her husband, Jake, son, Darryl Bergen and grandson, Jason Bergen.
