In Loving Memory of Maureen Williams (nee Edwards)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maureen Williams, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse, who touched countless lives with her big heart and unwavering kindness.
Born and raised in Melita, Manitoba, Maureen moved to Darlingford in 1965, where she built a life rooted in love and care for those around her. In 1962, she married the love of her life, Duane, and together they raised two wonderful sons — their firstborn James “Jim” in 1965 and their second, Douglas, in 1967. Though raising two boys kept life busy and sometimes hectic, she cherished every minute of it and took great pride in watching her family grow.
When her beloved granddaughters Skylar and Charley were born in 2002, her heart grew even bigger. She took immense pride in being their grandmother; they brought her endless joy, laughter, and purpose in her later years.
Her dedication to helping others shone through her career as a nurse. Whether she was caring for patients or supporting her loved ones, her compassion and generosity knew no bounds.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Duane, sons James “Jim” and Douglas, and her granddaughters, Skylar and Charley, along with many dear friends and extended family members. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and the lessons she passed on will be treasured forever by all who knew her.
A private family graveside service will be held. Following this, a celebration of life will take place on July 16th at the Williams family home in Darlingford, Manitoba. It will be a come-and-go gathering starting at 12:30 p.m., where all who knew and loved Maureen are welcome to share memories and honour her life.
We love you. We miss you. And we will hold you in our hearts forever.
Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the William's House in Darlingford at 12:30 pm.
