Patricia "Pat" Erickson, 84, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Monday, July, 6, 2026 at her home in Cavalier. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to United Lutheran Church or the charity of your choosing.
Patricia Elaine Smith was born on August 1, 1941, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Ruth (Hammer) and George Smith. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1959.
Pat married Roger Erickson on January 2, 1961, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. They spent most of their lives in Cavalier where she owned and operated Patricia’s clothing store. She later opened a second store in Cooperstown, ND.
Pat was involved with many organizations including the original board at Kids Townhouse, United Lutheran Church Council, Northeast North Dakota Heritage Association Board, and was part of the Cavalier Retail Committee where Pat and Gladys Hillman started the tradition of the Cavalier Santa Parade.
Survivors include daughters: JoDee (John) Dungan and Jill (Marc) Beulke; grandchildren: Layne (Josh Melander), Brianna and Gretchen Dungan, Baylee (Evan) Stenslie, Beckee and Braeden Beulke and Blaine Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; son, Timothy Erickson; sister, Evelyn Hensrud and brothers: Paul, Jerry, and Lyle Smith.
