Polly was the most selfless person, always putting other’s needs before her own. She was a great giver of gifts and her cards always hit you in the heart. She was a good cook even though she didn’t really enjoy cooking and her family loved her Czech rolicky and her favorite meal of pork, dumplings, gravy & of course sauerkraut along with her macaroni salad and dumpling soup. She had a good sense of humor and came through many hardships in her life with her humor intact. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who deeply loved her family. She enjoyed gardening and canned many quarts of vegetables over the years. She crocheted many blankets, loved reading, puzzles, and card games of all kinds. She also refinished many pieces of furniture over the years. But her favorite hobby was going to auction sales and rummage sales to find antiques and treasures. In her later years, her grandkids took top priority. She never said no, when asked to watch one of them. Her grandkids have many fond memories of the time they spent with her. She will be missed for being the family historian.
She was a member of the Pisek American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years, as well as St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Pisek, where she received all her sacraments.
