(nee Buschau)
February 22, 1940 - January 17, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family announces that Peggy left us on January 17, 2026, with her Granddaughter by her side at St. Boniface after a brief illness. She has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Peggy was born on February 22, 1940, in Plumas, MB. She grew up on the family farm, being one of eight children born to Fred and Annie Buschau.
After high school, she moved to Winnipeg where she obtained her Secretarial training and them worked in Eaton’s China Dept.
She married Fred Krause, the love of her life in 1960. Four years later, they moved to Morden, MB where they made their home.
Peggy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Fred of Morden, daughter, Tracey Krause, her husband, Rob Hamm and their children, Niki and Cassidy Krause of Winnipeg, and son Brent Krause of Morden. She is survived by her brother Bill Buschau and sisters: Shirley Single, Julie Kjaldgaard, and their families, and Krause in-laws.
Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering and strong faith in God from whom she drew comfort and strength throughout her life. She was a deeply devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, in Morden. She enjoyed the many years she served on the church council as well as on the National Council of Can. Assoc. of Lutheran Congregations. Over the years, she was president of the Lutheran Church Ladies, sang in the choir, worked on many committees and enjoyed leading Bible Studies.
Peggy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved us dearly and always enjoyed family gatherings. Her grandchildren: Nikki and Cassie were a special blessing. She looked forward to spending time with them and delighted in their activities and accomplishments. She left the world a better place by being part of our lives and her memory will live on in us forever.
She lived a full and rich life. Life was never boring for her. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved her flowers, was an avid reader, and had a real talent for painting and crafts. Photography and scrapbooking the familie's history, was another favourite pass-time of hers.
Peggy enjoyed family vacations; camping across North America with many trips to B.C. After the family left home, travelling with Fred, all over the globe, gave her a great deal of pleasure. A destination of meaning in her heart, was her trip to Israel.
Peggy held a variety of different jobs: including the manager of the Morden Chamber of Commerce, and a career in real estate. She was president of the Morden Kinette Club, Morden Art Club, and was on the executive of United Way. She believed it was important to "give back" to her community.
In her retirement years, she gave her time to volunteered activities in the area, which included: Palliative Care and the the Gift Shop at BTHC. Peggy touched the hearts of many with her generous caring and friendly personality.
Peggy's Celebration of Life service will be held on January 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at the Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden, with interment at the Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone so desires, donations may be made in Peggy's memory to: Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation. Box 2000, Winkler, MB, R6W 1H8.
