Peter Krahn
1957 ~ 2023
On Sunday November 19th at the age of 66, Peter Krahn of Morden Mb went to be with his Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peter is survived by his wife, Janet and children, Brian (Clarissa), Jen (Ben), Kevin (Argelyn), Justin, 11 grandchildren: Cole, Mason, Hannah, Benjamin, Leah, Rowan, Lincoln, Poppy, Violet, Zoey and Cristian, 1 great-grandchild; Mateo. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Margareta, 3 siblings in infancy, 2 brothers, Neil and Ben and a sister-in-law, Bette.
Peter was born on March 13, 1957 in Chihuahua Mexico. At the age of 7 he moved with his family to Canada, settling down in Winkler, MB where he attended school and was baptized. He met his future wife, Janet in 1975 and they married in April of 1979. Their first son, Brian was born in 1980 in Vanderhoof. After a few years in BC, they made their way back to Manitoba where their daughter, Jennifer was born in 1983 and son, Kevin was born in 1987. Their youngest son, Justin was born in Winkler in 1991.
Peter was a long-haul truck driver for many years, sacrificing time with his family so he could provide for them. Missing so much of their childhood was one of his biggest regrets. Once his grandchildren started coming along, he made the decision to work closer to home so he could spend more time with them. He could run any kind of heavy equipment, but his favourite of all was the excavator. He was able to make that big machine move so gracefully, it almost looked like it was dancing.
A heartfelt thank you to Cancer Care Manitoba, and all the doctors, nurses, and aids at BTHC who cared for our dad. From beginning to end, everyone we encountered treated him with so much care, compassion and respect. We couldn't have asked for more or picked out a better team ourselves.
