Robert Edward Burns
1954 - 2021
It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we, the family, announce Robert (Bob) Edward Burns, of Morden, Manitoba, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 24, 2021 at age 67, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Norma, son, Craig (Jill) Burns of Alberta, daughter, Christa (Greg) Gitzel of Altona, MB, grandchildren: Sydney, Riley, Noah and Ethan, all of whom he loved and cherished, a brother, Tom (Laurie) Burns of Brandon, MB, niece, Susan (Harbinder) Benning of Winnipeg, MB, grand-niece, Annika and grand-nephew, Ronin.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Jean Burns, brother-in-law, Emile Branconier, and sister, Linda Branconier.
Bob was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, July 20, 1954. He met the love of his life, Norma Jean Sutherland in 1970 and they married in 1974. Bob pursued his driving /trucking career and became an owner/operator with his own company. He and Norma also spent time serving at Circle Square Ranch in Austin, MB. He very much enjoyed football with his favourite team, of course, being the Winnipeg Blue Bombers; playing hockey, baseball and golfing. Bob’s most important life decision was made when he committed his life to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, whom he loved to share with any and all he met.
You will be forever in our hearts, and though our hearts are heavy now, we are rejoicing knowing you are free of all pain and disease.
