Robert S. “Spike” Desautel, age 65 of Grafton, ND passed away at his home on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Robert Desautel was born August 4, 1957 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Robert W and Delores (Peterka) Desautel. He attended school in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School in 1975. Following his education he worked as a mechanic in Colorado. Robert returned to Grafton and started farming with his father. Robert was united in marriage to D.J. Fohrman on January 10, 1986.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Cemetery Board, Knights of Columbus, Walsh Rural Water and the Grafton Rural Fire Department.
As a Papa, Robert enjoyed watching and attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and motorcycles.
He is survived by his children: Nikki (Josh) Jaster, Trisha Nelson and Shane Desautel; his grandchildren: Jace Walters, Noah Nelson, Camila Nelson, Boden Jaster and Ellery Jaster; his sisters: Cheryl (Don) Burns and Bonnie Desautel. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law; Joanie and Vern Anderson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton in the spring.
