Ryan attended Minnewasta Elementary and Morden École Middle School, completed grades 5 and 6 through PACES (Prairie Adventist Christian E-School), and graduated from Morden Collegiate in 2021. School was challenging at times due to ADHD, but Ryan approached life with determination, living by the motto tattooed across his shoulders: “No pity, no remorse, no fear.”
He found his passion working with Raycon Builders, installing grain bins throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ryan loved the physical work, the travel, and especially the camaraderie of his crew, who became like a second family.
Ryan was naturally introverted but lived with intensity and humour. He loved to joke around, surprise people, and bring laughter into ordinary moments. His hobbies included PlayStation gaming, paintball, anime, Marvel and DC comics, especially Spiderman, along with collecting Pokémon cards and knives. He was often seen in his signature look of hoodies and toques.
He cared deeply about fairness and injustice and was always ready to help others, even when navigating his own challenges. One of his closest companions was his cat, Void, who found Ryan while he was visiting friends in Steinbach and never left his side.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Dave and Lori; his sister Vanessa; grandparents George and Joyce Wiens, and Rudy and Betty Ens; aunts and uncle: Tammy Ens, Lori MacDonald, and Rhonda and Conan Kezema; and cousins: Brennan and Liam Kezema, Eowynn and James MacDonald.
Ryan will be remembered for his courage, humour, loyalty, and the fierce love he shared with those around him. He lived boldly and he will be deeply missed.
