1961-2025
With hearts full of love and a touch of sadness, we share that Sara Neufeld passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 63, at Boundary Trails Hospital.
Born on August 2nd, 1961 to Cornelius and Helena Schmitt in Mexico. Mom was the youngest of 10 children. She was baptized on May 25th, 1981 and married on Sept 29th,1985. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years Abram, and their children John, Cornie (Eva), Abe, Lena (Willie), Maria (Ethan), Sara (David), 13 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She was predeceased by both parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Sara was a woman who found joy in simple things - whether it was digging in the garden, watching birds flutter by, or enjoying a good laugh with her grandchildren, kids, and friends. She had a warm heart, a green thumb and an uncanny ability to make everyone feel at home.
Sara’s faith was also very important to her. She really enjoyed going to church Sunday mornings and if there were any programs going on or if the choir was going to sing, she was sure to be there. She lived out her faith through the kindness and love she showed to the people in her life.
She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, her easy smile, and her knack for knowing when a cup of tea (or plate of cookies) could make everything a little better.
While we’ll miss her dearly, we’re grateful for the years of memories she leaves behind - and for every flower that blooms or bird that sings, we’ll be thinking of her.
We would like to thank everyone for the prayer, visits, and meals that were provided in the last months. We would like to also thank the staff at Boundary Trail Health Center for the care and concern they showed Sara throughout her battle with cancer. Thank you to Dr. Nicole and staff at Refined Health for the pain management treatments that helped Mom regain her independence. We would also like to thank Wiebe Funeral Home for all the arrangements.
