Sharon’s life began in April of 1949 when she was born to Glenn and Edna (Moos) Sprunk. Sharon graduated from Chaffee High School. She went on to attended the University of North Dakota’s Nursing program and then Briercrest Bible Institute. Her career included nursing, massage, reflexology, and physical therapy; along with working in the Nygard Bolt and Supply business with her husband Orlyn.
Sharon met Orlyn in April 1985 when Orlyn experienced severe back pain. Sharon became his physical therapist. With his back pain much improved, Orlyn contacted Sharon’s place of employment to thank her. They became friends and the rest of the story was that they were married on November 9, 1985. Those 34 years and 11 months just sped by until his heavenly home welcomed him on October 19, 2020. Sharon was so grateful for Orlyn’s love, care, and kindness and for the readymade family she inherited.
Per Sharon’s request, it is her desire to have no memorial service, but for family and friends to rejoice in having completed this journey in life!
She was blessed to be a part of Orlyn’s children’s lives: Karen (Ray) Gutterud, Gary (Deborah) Nygard, Laurie (Randy) Thompson, Mark Nygard, and Wendy (Loren) Machart, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Lydon Sprunk.
Inurnment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Edinburg. Memorials may be sent in Sharon’s memory to the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Edinburg or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
