With his family by his side, Wayne peacefully passed away at Carman Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 30th, 2026.
Dad was not a man of many words, he never complained and he was always there to lend a hand, share advice or an opinion.
Many have spoken to us about Dad and his years running the family business with his dad and brother. They say how grateful they were for him to come and help them in their time of need. The “no heat” calls in the middle of the night, replacing a furnace part to keep it running or a water heater.
Dad was always reading and learning new things. We grew up knowing the value of hard work and how to DIY almost anything.
When arriving home to visit you could find Dad in his garage fixing his many garden tractors, greasing the wheels of Mom’s lawn mower or just puttering around. He passed on this knowledge to his grandson Spencer who now carries on this valuable trait. He could also be found relaxing in his chair searching on his iPad for rambler parts or learning the latest games with his granddaughter Leona by his side. He always had a smile for his grandson Hudson when he would ask, “Should we go hit a bucket of balls Grandpa?” and off the three of them would go to the driving range by golf cart.
Dad also gave of his time, visiting many going through life changes with the Ostomy Manitoba Association.
Dad’s first car was a red 1967 Rambler Rebel SST which he later traded in for a family car. He never forgot about his first car, so in 1995 he purchased the same make of car except in the colour aquamarine which he spent many hours restoring. Just to be clear it was not green but aquamarine blue. Dad was not a fan of the colour green.
Dad was adventurous, taking the family on a road trip to Florida and flying to California for Christmas were very memorable. We spent most summers at the family cabin on Lee River.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Beverley, daughter Tracie, son-in-law Ryan Bell and grandsons Spencer and Hudson. His son Baden, daughter-in-law Tina and granddaughter Leona. He will be missed by his brother Barry Spencer, stepsisters Sharon Biggar (Peter Russell), Bonnie McCutcheon (Shawn) and stepbrothers Doug Biggar (Nora), Brian Biggar. Wayne will also be remembered by Beverley’s family, sisters-in-law Sharon Lannoo, Gail Bruce (Norm) and Sandra Rose (Kim) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We are forever grateful for the life you built, the support and love you gave unconditionally and the example of how to live life to the fullest. You told us many times don’t wait to do the things you dream of.
