He lived in Belize with his parents until he was 11 years old, then moved to Canada in July of 1979. He worked in factories until the started his career of truck driving. He met the love of his life, Marge, while cruising their cars on Main Street. It took a bit of convincing but Marge finally agreed to go on a date. They later married on September 23, 1990. They added 2 beautiful girls to their family. Jake always said he was in a house full of girls, always out numbered. But we knew he secretly loved it. Jake loved spending time with people. The more the better. Every weekend he was home, he devoted to his time to be with friends. He was the guy that always knew a guy, and joked around with everyone that came across his path. Marsha was born to Pius and Mary (Waanatan) Littlewind in Devils Lake, ND. They made their home in the Crow Hill District and Fort Totten District. Marsha’s parents sadly passed away leaving her at a very young age. Marsha moved to New Rockford, ND to be foster cared by the Joanie Ludwig family. There she attended school up to the third grade. Michael and Pauline Greywater adopted Marsha at the age of 9 and they resided in St. Michael District. Marsha attended Little Flower school and Fort Totten school. Her parents traveled with her to Pow-Wows, rodeos, spiritual gatherings in ND, SD, MT and Canada. She became the baby sister of seven brothers and six sisters. Marsha loved all kinds of animals her entire life. She was fond of horses, cats and dogs. One day Marsha overheard her mother talking about the stray dogs in the community and they will catch the dogs and take them away. So Marsha gathered six dogs and took them to the Priest’s house and hid with them in the entry way. When the Priest returned home, he found her sleeping with them. Her Star Quilts went in every direction and were presented to honor people, welcome newborns, graduations, and to cover many to their final resting place. Marsha was a beautiful, quiet, humble, bashful lady. With her family, Marsha loved to be joking, teasing and was fun-loving. Because she had such a big, caring heart, she touched many lives and many called her “Mom”. The family will miss her dearly and we will cherish her memories until we meet again. Love you “Mom”, “Grandma”, “Great Grandma”, “Sis”, “Auntie”, “Cousin”, and “Friend”. Marsha you did so much for all of us, we wish we could have done more for you.
