Abram Wall
1935 ~ 2023
Abram Wall, known by most as Abe, was born to Klaas and Maria Wall on October 5, 1935. He passed into eternal glory on January 13, 2023 at the age of 87. He was a husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. We celebrate a life well-lived.
Abe grew up in a small village in Mexico and in 1956 Abe was baptized upon the confession of his faith in the Old Colony Church. On July 7, 1957 he married Tina Wall. They began their life together in Mexico. Abe and Tina were blessed with a large family. In 1967 they moved to Ontario, Canada; eventually settling in the village of Haskett, MB.
In his younger years, Dad could often be found tending to the garden, and working with his hands. Dad always liked to keep busy. Mom and Dad would often enjoy driving around and reminiscing about days gone by.
Dad had a unique ear for music. As a young man in Mexico, he played a homemade fiddle; later on in Canada he played the harmonica. Family will remember him always whistling while he worked and kept busy.
Later in life Dad’s love for family, the outdoors, hard work and animals came through in all the stories he told. Storytelling was a huge part of who Dad was. He spent the last two years of his life sharing many memories that were never heard before about siblings, Mexico, farming and his parents.
Dad was always meticulous about where things belonged, and everything always had a place. His attention to detail was evident in his everyday life. Entering his home, you would never find anything out of place. This trait was also evident in work he did around the community, with the many yard care jobs he had. Dad had a heart to serve, and he did this with appreciation.
Each Sunday Mom and Dad could be found in church worshipping their Heavenly Father, until health no longer allowed them to do so. From then on they greatly enjoyed listening to church at home. Prayer was important to Dad and you could often find him praying frequently throughout the day. Dad had a strong desire for his children and grandchildren to have a personal relationship with Jesus because of this he shared the Gospel with them.
Abe was predeceased by his wife Tina Wall in 2021, son-in-law Pete Wiebe 2022, 2 daughters and 1 son in infancy and all of his siblings.
