Alfred Herman was born on January 28, 1945 at Fort Totten ND the son of Ernest and Beulah (Parisian Poitra) Herman. He grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation, attended St. Michael’s Indian Mission School. He faithfully served as an Altar Boy at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in his younger years. Baldie worked for many years for Lauinger’s Grain Bin Construction Company.
Baldie loved to hunt with Dan Green, his best buddy. He also loved to fish and watch basketball games.
Alfred may be gone, but will never be forgotten.
Baldie is survived by his children Renea Herman, Bismarck ND, Ricky Herman, Fargo ND and Susie Herman also of Fargo; sisters Ernestine Dauphinais, Mary Jane (Wayne) Carlson, Yvonne Shipley, Shirley “Chicken” Herman and Toni “CheeChee” Herman (Tim Olson) of Devils Lake and Brenda (Bud) Pendergast of Tennesee; many nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Betty Ann (Kenny) Jager, Deborah Herman, Ernest Herman Jr., Jeanette Jore, Elsie Herman and Lucille Herman.
Funeral Services for Alfred will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Reverend Steven Wirth officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery following the service.
