The simple ask to join a curling league changed Alice’s life forever. Uncle Charlie was looking for a few curlers to complete his curling team. Alice, along with another teammate, Alastair, agreed. From that moment on, Alice and Alastair were inseparable, marrying on December 6, 1952.
Family was incredibly important to Alice. She kept up on all her family’s activities no matter where they were, or how far away. Alice’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Alice loved to travel. As a family, there were many good memories created during summer camping adventures. Alice and Alastair visited Hawaii, Scotland, Mexico, Florida, and for several years into retirement spent a few weeks in Victoria to escape the cold Manitoba weather.
Alice loved life and the experiences it provided her. She loved socializing, going golfing and bowling, or even playing a good game of 500 or Sequence. Alice was very artistic. She would knit and crochet, as well as paint rocks and pictures, thus showcasing her natural talent.
As a family we want to thank mom’s neighbours at Riverview for your friendship and kindness. As well, we want to thank Doyle’s for their professional support and guidance. We are especially grateful for the skilled staff at Carman Home Care for all their assistance throughout the years, enabling Mom and Dad to stay in their home. A special thank-you to Jacquie Paton for your kind and wonderful help to Mom on the day she passed away; knowing Mom had your support means so much to us as a family.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Alice’s name.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Carman.
