On Sunday, June 13th, 2021 Alice Marie Novak (McNabb) passed away peacefully at Carman Memorial Hospital.
Alice is predeceased by husband Lawrence, son Mitchell as well as parents Doris and Albert McNabb, sisters Mary and Lana & brothers Gary and Dalton.
Alice was born in Portage la Prairie in 1938. She was the oldest of nine children, grew up in the Layland district and attended school at Wingham. There she met and married the love of her life Lawrence. Together they had 3 children Heather, April and Mitchell.
Alice spent her spare time volunteering as a secretary for the local legion auxiliary and sewing many figure skating costumes. In their retirement years, Alice and Lawrence spent many hours gardening and tending to their flowers. Also much time was spent with their hockey stick craft and travelling all over the province to craft sales.
Alice’s most favorite pastime was BINGO. She went up to 3-4 nights a week to local bingos until her health no longer permitted her to.
Alice is survived by her daughters Heather (Mike) Touchette of Portage la Prairie, MB and April (Tom) Loewen of Elm Creek, MB. Sisters Karen, Barb and Leora and Brother Cameron. Grandchildren Danielle (Garth) Shultz of New South Wales, Australia, Melissa Loewen (Jason Speiss) of Brookdale, MB, Eugene (Charlee) Touchette of Nanimo, BC, Travis (Rachael) Loewen of MacNutt, SK, Nicole Touchette (Kevin McIntyre) of Winnipeg, MB and Pierre Touchette (Justine Duchaine) of Winnipeg, MB. As well as 7 great grandchildren Dawson, Jasper, Tayte, Tayter, Roan, Logan and Morley.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in memory of Alice.
