Beatrice was born March 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda (Zeller) Larson in Grafton, North Dakota. She grew up and attended school in Grafton. Following her education she worked at the bakery and Kimballs processing plant, both in Grafton.
Beatrice was united in marriage to Merlin Amundson on November 30, 1957 in Grafton. The couple lived and farmed near Hoople. Beatrice worked as a cook for the Dundee School, Lutheran Sunset Home and the Developmental Center of Grafton for many years. She also worked for the Fields Dry Cleaner, as well as for Holm’s Farm in the fall, driving potato truck.
Beatrice was a member of former Hvideso Lutheran Church and WELCA until it closed. She maintained the cemetery there for 50 years, taking the utmost care in manicuring the lawn and caring for each and every monument. She and Merlin became members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edinburg. Beatrice loved to garden, whether flower beds or vegetables she tended them with love. She enjoyed the fall when she canned her harvest. Beatrice was known for her love of cooking and made the most incredible donuts, lefse, buns, and potato klub.
Beatrice will be dearly missed by her daughters: Bonnie (Neil) Litton, Fargo, ND, Jodi (Don) Wellman, Devils Lake, ND; grandchildren: Mandi (Robert) Lawrence, Devils Lake, ND, Aaron (Briana) Wellman, Bismarck, ND, Austan (fiancé Stephanie Arniel) Wellman, Fargo, ND, Sara Litton, Fargo, ND, and Joseph Litton, Fargo, ND; great grandchildren: Bailey Litton, Alionna, Presley, and Harrison Lawrence, and Adia, Nolan, and Rush Wellman; and sister: Janice Peterson, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merlin, and siblings: Evelyn Seeba, Phyllis (Sanford) Blegen, Marilyn (Reid) Loffelmacher, Joyce (Alfred) Littlejohn, Myron “Happy” (Bernadette) Larson, Richard (Gloris) Larson, and Noel Larson.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Hvideso Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople, ND. Services will be livestreamed via Tollefson Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook page.
