Bernice Stella Zolondek was born March 6, 1927 in Ardoch Township, Walsh County, North Dakota to the late Dominik and Mary (Lunski) Zolondek. She was raised and attended country school north of Ardoch. After her education, she began working on the farm and for area farmers. Bernice was united in marriage to Mike Stanley Glanner on June 13, 1946 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw. They made their home in rural Ardoch and farmed and raised cattle. Bernice and Mike welcomed three children: Michael, Geraldine, and Jeff. In 1964, they moved their family into Minto, where she lived until moving to Lutheran Sunset Home in 2020.
Bernice was a homemaker, farm wife, and worked for Borden’s and Associated Potato Growers. In her retirement she worked as a foster grandparent for ABC daycare in Minto for 15+ years. She loved to garden, crochet, and to watch her birds at the feeders.
Bernice is survived by her children: Geraldine Etsy, York, ME and Jeff Glanner, Minto, ND; her daughter-in-law Mary Glanner, Grafton, ND; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael, siblings: Helen, Isabel, Florence, and Stanley, and two infant sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the spring at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Minto.
