Survived by his wife Elaine (nee Doell), 1 son and 1 daughter and their families. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Brian Eugene Hildebrand

Brian Eugene Hildebrand 74, currently of Winkler, passed away at home on August 19,2021. He is survived by his wife Elaine, son Curtis and his wife Bonnie, daughter Lindi and her son CJ, one brother Marcel and one sister Eunice and her husband Walter along with nieces and nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law Tina Doell and sisters-in-law Kathy and her husband Herb and their family Brian Eugene was born April 21,1947; the firstborn child of Henry and Susan Hildebrand. He grew up in Lowe Farm. Playing basketball as part of the Lancers team and making music with his guitar were two of his passions during his high school years. On August 9,1969 Brian Eugene married his high school sweetheart Elaine Marlene Doell. Together they raised their son Curtis and their daughter Lindi. Making fond family memories was always top priority. Brian Eugene retired from the city of Winnipeg as superintendent of taxation in 1998 after thirty years of employment.
He was an “experiencial” learner and problem solver. He could build most anything from cabin to furniture to his favourite wood crafting hobby known as ‘intarsia’. May the numerous eagles he crafted continue to ‘fly’.
Brian Eugene and Elaine enjoyed children; both their own and others. They spent many years serving as leaders in various boys and girls clubs and in children’s church. He also had a ‘way’ with dogs. Most of their married life a dog was part of the family household.
They both appreciated the beauty in nature, going to the cabin and eventually living there full time. A cruise around the lake was a daily ritual whether by boat or canoe. They shared their love of the lake willingly entertaining family and friends. They also travelled via air, land and sea to many destinations.
In more recent years as Brian Eugene’s health declined, he and Elaine moved to Winkler where he was so very grateful for the medical services that were available to tend to his “needs”.
Brian Eugene lived a full and happy life. His ultimate joy was becoming a grandfather on June 25,2015. His grandson CJ, brought him happiness beyond words; spending countless hours with his ‘gammie and gampa’.
Brian Eugene, you have climbed the mountain...now fly beyond.
