Brian had a love of music and was a self-taught pianist/organist with a singing voice that came naturally. Brian also played trombone in his high school band.
Brian enjoyed learning other languages and would often surprise waiting staff at restaurants by speaking in their native language.
Brian was united in marriage to Kay Newell in 1980. Together they had two sons, Cody and Blayne. The boys were Brian’s pride and joy, they always had a special place in his heart.
After moving to California in 1986, Brian was employed by San Francisco transportation industry. Retiring in June 2020, he then moved to Yuma AZ where he resided until his passing.
Brian had a huge heart and a way with words. He would give his shirt off his back to help anyone. Brian touched many lives in his short 60 years.
Brian is survived by his Parents, Wallace and Jeanne Saiger, Mandan ND. Sons Cody Saiger (Charlotte; children Kassidee and Bentlee) Crystal, ND and Blayne Saiger, Grand Forks ND; sister Julie (Doug) Olander, Stanton, ND; uncle, Don (Marlene) Saiger; niece Becky (Praveen) Jayakumar, Las Vegas, NV; nephew Jeff (Amanda) Moos, Mandan, ND; very special cousins Deanna Crance, Alpine WY and Cheryl Messenger, Rigby, ID. Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Florence Gelder and grandparents Manuel and Evelyn Saiger.
A graveside will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bathgate Cemetery, Bathgate, ND. Please bring lawn chairs for the graveside service. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Bathgate Cemetery or the Bathgate Fire Department.
