Calvin H. Benneweis, 81, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church.
Calvin was born September 18, 1941, near Hensel, ND, to Henry and Grace (Rickbeil) Benneweis. He grew up near Hensel and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1960. On February 14, 1965, Cal married Diane Gebur at Rock Lake, ND. He farmed in the Hensel area, and also managed the Robertson Lumber Yard and worked at North Valley Equipment in Grafton until his retirement.
He is survived by his children: Scot Benneweis, Big Lake, MN; Dynessa (Steve) Nordrum, Corpus Christi, TX; and Jonathan Benneweis, Cavalier, ND; sister-in-law, Alta Faye Benneweis; nephew, Darren Benneweis and niece, Teri Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane; and brother, Herb.
