Cheryl Lynn Longie was born August 6, 1976 in Devils Lake ND, the daughter of the late Belinda (Bear) Longie and Gary Longie Sr. She grew up in the Tokio area. She attended Warwick Public School where she participated in track, cross country and basketball. Her jersey number was #45. As a track star, she attended the Nationals in Chicago. There she was able to see a Chicago Bulls basketball game. In 2016 she received her GED through the Cankdeska Cikana Community College. She continued her studies at CCCC and made the President's list in 2017.
While making her home in Tokio, Cheryl met Mahlan Redfox Sr. and they had three children, Autumn, Mahlan Jr. and Mariah. Cheryl worked at Sioux Manufacturing, as a Slot Attendant and Hotel Housekeeper at the Spirit Lake Casino, also worked at Little Dreamers Childcare, Devils Lake Speedway, The Connection, and Early Head Start.
Cheryl liked to play BINGO, slots at the Casino, cards, dice, Dominos, horseshoes, pool and darts. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to country music, attending concerts and going for “cruises”. She loved spending time with her family and her precious grandchildren.
Our time on earth with Cheryl was much too short, but we believe in the promises of God and know she is in the arms of the Lord. Rest in peace dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
