Cooper D Satterlund

Cooper D. Satterlund, age 15 of Pisek, ND passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021.
Cooper Satterlund was born February 22, 2006 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Chad Satterlund and the late Laura (Satterlund) Zelewski.  He grew up in Grafton and had just finished his 9th grade year.  He was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church. While in school, Cooper was an honor student as well as being active on the basketball, baseball and football teams.
Whenever Cooper smiled his whole face would light up, he also had a hug that made you feel like never letting go.  He was a goofball at times with his infectious giggles and that mischievous grin that kept you on your feet.  Making you wonder if he was up to no good or wanted to show you a more serious side with his heart of gold he had.  His family, friends, teammates and fans were the most important things to him as he would drop everything just to have a one-on-one intimate conversation with you to show you, he cared.  He was able to stay humble through all of his achievements and success on the court and field as that was his true passion.  Cooper was serious about his new found curly golden locks and everyone fell in love with it too.  In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at both grandpa’s and grandma’s lake places as he would get every chance he had to drive and explore the lake with the jet ski when Tucker wasn’t hogging it.  Fishing, tubing, playing board/card games, twisting and turning hilly game of croquet were just a few things he loved to do surrounded by his loved ones.  He touched so many throughout the years and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him for many years to come.
Cooper is survived by his father Chad (Carrie Stokaluk) Satterlund, brother Tucker Satterlund, Libby and Wyatt Stokaluk, all of Pisek, ND; grandparents: Kim (Jerry) Stormo, Cass Lake, MN and Chuck (Dina) Satterlund, Drayton, ND as well as the following aunts and uncles: Nathan (Jaci) Satterlund of East Grand Forks, MN, Jordan (Kari Brady) Stormo of Fisher, MN, Amber Stormo of Maynard, MN, Chad Barta of Minto, ND, Pat (Jade) Barta of Grand Forks, ND, Tami Thompson of Fargo, ND and Kristin Meschke of Shakopee, MN. He had many cousins and extended family as well.  He was preceded in death by his mother Laura Zelewski, and grandparents Carol and Dennis Zelewski.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Grafton Lutheran Church of Grafton.  A private family service will be at 2:00 PM.  The service will be live streamed on the Grafton Lutheran Church facebook page and a recording of the service will be available on the Tollefson Funeral Home website following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Park River Ambulance, the Walsh County Sherriff’s Department or the Grafton High School Athletic Department.
