Daniel James Kasprick was born December 12, 1947 in Grafton to the late Sylvester and Rayfina (Slominski) Kasprick. He was raised by the banks of the Red River on the Kasprick family farm. He attended Grafton Public Schools, until moving to Crookston to attend the Northwest Agriculture School, from which he graduated. Daniel entered the United States Army and served his country in 1967.
Daniel met Patricia Freschette in 1971 and they united in marriage on July 21, 1972. The couple made Grafton their home. Daniel worked for the Grafton Police Department from 1974 to 1983. He returned to farming in 1983 and farmed until his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 41, AMVETS, Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles, which he served as president for many years. Daniel loved to hunt, fish, and do puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia; his children: Shawn (Sharon) Kasprick, Grafton, ND, Scott (Jessica) Kasprick, West Fargo, ND, and Heather (Jason) Matheny, Bel Air, MD; his grandchildren: Faith, Maison, Mia, Tori and Vanessa; his siblings: Leonard Kasprick and Adeline Woinarowicz, several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Dorothy, and brothers: Raymond and Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. A walk through visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. Due to current COVID recommendations, social distancing will be observed and masks are required. Military Rites will be provided by the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard and American Legion Post 41.
