Darren was born in Grafton, ND on March 25, 1969 and was raised in a loving, supportive family; his parents Karen and Jerry, along with his older brother Jeff and his younger sister Lisa. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1987.
While attending Northwestern College of Chiropractic, Darren became an extremely proud father of two, Melissa and Cory. While raising a young family he completed his education, graduating in 1993, and began his career in Chiropractic. He worked with his mentor, his dad in the Grafton Clinic eventually moving his own practice exclusively to Cavalier. Darren was a chiropractor for 27 years and loved caring for all his patients.
Darren made lasting relationships everywhere he went in life. Like time spent owning Westside Drive-In, playing hockey, later coaching hockey, on every golf course (especially Grafton, Cavalier, Altona and Morris) and especially quiet trips up to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Neither Darren nor Tiffany were looking for a love story when they met 21 years ago but the long distance friendship between two people meant for each other made it inevitable. And with that, Tiffany’s children Tristan and Hayden gained a father that was so very proud of them too.
Darren will be remembered by all who knew him for his story telling, good nature, love of dogs, Minnesota Vikings, Winnipeg Jets, and cooking, his comforting presence, and his constant willingness to lend a hand. Those who hadn’t seen him recently may be surprised that Tiffany eventually turned him into a book worm through audio books. Turns out he enjoyed sci-fi books after all. Mostly though I believe he will be remembered for his compassion and knowledge. He was driven to find answers, and always wanted to learn as much as he could and was so excited to share that knowledge.
Darren is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife Tiffany, parents Jerry and Karen, children Melissa (Kevin), Cory (Melissa), Tristan (Ali), Hayden, brother Jeff (Dori), their sons Dacotah and Joshua, his sister Lisa, his entire Canadian family made up of brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We will be honouring Darren’s wishes, a public service will not be held, however the family has received many messages of support and would like to express our sincere gratitude for the thoughts and prayers.
