It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of David Unger, aged 63 years, of Winkler, MB on July 25, 2022 at his residence.
He will be remembered by his 2 brothers Jake and Henry Unger, his sister Kathy Unger, sister-in-law Donna Reimer, as well as nieces and nephews, Brenda and Richard Clouston, Gary and Annie Reimer, Kristin Unger, Cristina and Eldon Reimer, Jonathan Friesen, and Tina Harder. He was predeceased by his father John F Unger in 1994, his mother Katherine Unger in 2013 and two brothers Abram Unger in 1979 and John Unger in 2006.
David was born March 15, 1959 to John and Katherine Unger. He spent his youth in Altona then moved to Winkler in 1977 where he spent the remainder of his life. David loved spending time with his family and friends. He liked to keep busy and was employed at The Great Canadian Superstore for 4 years until his health declined. He was a volunteer at Winkler MCC for about 10 years and was described as a friendly and willing worker.
David was no stranger to hardship. His handicap was a constant battle in life but he touched people’s lives with joy, a smile, and his enthusiasm. David was baptized in the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church in June 1981. In recent years he started attending the Peace Valley Mennonite Church in Plum Coulee where he enjoyed spending time with Pastor Norman.
David will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
