Donna Lou was born the 1st daughter to Charles and Bernice (Hall) Rance on January 24th, 1933 in Egeland, ND. She attended primary and secondary school in Egeland, ND. Following graduation, she attended Lakewood Park Bible College in Devils Lake, ND and worked at Coast to Coast. At Lakewood, she met the love of her life, Herbert Sieler. Herbert and Donna Lou were married October 3, 1953 and had 3 children – Lewellyn, Gaylon, and Connie. Their first year of marriage they lived in Billings, MT then in 1955 moved to Egeland, ND where they farmed until 1978. While raising her 3 children and working on the farm Donna Lou also worked at the Egeland School. After farming for 23 years they took 2 years to travel in their motorhome until settling down in Chula Vista, CA in 1980. Donna Lou mostly enjoyed caring for her grandchildren but also served as a caretaker for the elderly in their homes.
Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling and bought a home in West Fargo where they lived until 2015. They then moved to Edgewood Vista in Fargo where she continued to reside until moving to KinderCare in West Fargo in November of 2020 where she resided until her death.
Donna Lou was the personification of strength. Strength of character, strength of spirit, and strength of faith. Her unwavering love and devotion to her husband and family were awe inspiring. Her faith was evident in her daily actions. She was truly the heart and soul of the Sieler Family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Herbert Sieler; her parents, Charles and Bernice Rance; brother, Laverne Rance; brother, Eldon Rance; and grandson, Michael Sieler.
She is survived by her 3 children Lewellyn (Gerry) Sieler (Fargo, ND), Gaylon (Susie) Sieler (Cando, ND), Connie (Keith) Rinas (West Fargo, ND), her brother Alver (Linda) Rance (Springfield, MO), her sister Doreen (Dan) Scovill (Lorida, FL), 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, and dear family friend and caregiver Lee Uong.
