Dorothy Sadie Elizabeth Hoeppner (nee Falk)
1937 ~ 2021
Dorothy Sadie Elizabeth Hoeppner (nee Falk), 84, of Winkler, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 2nd at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband, Isaac, four daughters and their families, and seven siblings and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius D. Falk and Sadie (Sarah) Hoeppner, two grandsons, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, a niece and two nephews.
Dorothy was born on March 3, 1937 to Cornelius and Sadie Falk. She was baptized in 1960 and married to Isaac F. Hoeppner on September 11, 1960.
As the second of what would eventually be eight children, Dorothy developed a strong work ethic early. She worked at her mother’s side in the house and looked after her younger siblings as well.
Dorothy worked first in the Bethel Hospital laundry area upon leaving home and would go on to hold various jobs such as clothing sales, server, and cleaner, but was certainly best known as being one-half of the friendly couple who owned and operated “West End Grocery” store in Winker.
She was also a frequent volunteer around the community and in the Winkler E.M.M. Church.
After retirement, Dorothy spent countless enjoyable hours in her garden, reading inspirational fiction novels, or solving jigsaw puzzles. Most precious of all to her, though, was her family, about whom she was quietly passionate.
