Edward Frank Beneda was born January 17, 1954 in Park River ND, the son of Frank and Rose (Dvorak) Beneda. Ed graduated from Lankin High School in 1972 and went to NDSCS for Diesel Mechanics. He worked in Park River as a mechanic and farmed.
In 1982, Ed was united in marriage to Rose Robinette. Ed became the father to 2 children, Shannon and Gregory. The family lived in Lankin, ND and later moved to Washington state.
Ed then returned to the family farm, rural Lankin and owned and operated Ed’s Repair.
In 2001, Ed was united in marriage to Nancy Kendig. Ed was a stepfather to 2 girls, Sarah Hobbs and Julie Yaunches. The couple split their time between Lankin and Grand Forks.
Ed enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered for tearing up the dance floor at dances and Polka fests. He was an avid fan of UND Sioux/Fighting Hawks sports and wore the green and white with great pride. Ed’s fun spirit and sassy personality brought smiles to many. He will be dearly missed.
Ed is survived by his 2 children, Shannon Freeman and Gregory Robinette, siblings Betty (Jon) Heyerman, Marie (Warren) Hurst, Marcy (Arden) Bell and David (Jodi) Beneda. Also surviving is Ed’s grandchildren Oskar Hrutfiord, Payton and Kailey Robinette and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews Michael Georgeson and Justin Bell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Park River, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Lankin ND in the spring.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River is in charge of the arrangements.
