Edwin Jake Ginter1942 – 2021
Early morning Friday November 12, 2021 Edwin Ginter, age 79 of Winkler, MB passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Rock Lake Hospital in Crystal City. He was welcomed into the arms of his Saviour with a clear mind and a body free of pain and confusion.
Edwin was born in Altona, MB on May 20, 1942 to Peter and Katherine Ginter. He spent his childhood years in Horndean and in 1967 he met the love of his life, Katie Dyck and married her on December 16th of that year. They started their life together in Plum Coulee, moved to Winnipeg for several years and then moved back to the Winkler area where they spent the rest of their lives together working and raising their family. Ed was baptized upon the confession of his faith at the Christian Life Centre in Morden on August 18, 1991. His love for the Lord was evident in everything he did from ushering in church for many years, to praying for and witnessing to his family and friends. Ed, dad, uncle Edwin will always be known for his gentle spirit and kind heart.
Ed is survived by his wife, Katie, daughters, Carol (Lewis) Rempel, Linda Wolfe, Dolores (Richard) Smart and son, Michael (Margaret) Ginter, 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Alan, Leonard, Ervin and sister, Evelyn, his parents-in-law, Jan and Justina Michnik and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
