
Eleanor Murray was born December 14, 1943 in Grafton, ND to the late Elmer and Annie (Burris) Murray. She grew up in Conway and later moved with her family to Pisek where she attended grade school. Eleanor graduated from the Walsh County Agriculture School in Park River in 1961. She continued her education at the University Of North Dakota, where she received a degree in accounting.
Eleanor was united in marriage to Dorab Baria and they made their home in Grand Forks, where Dorab was a professor at UND. They moved to Duluth, MN for a position Dorab took at the University of Minnesota. Eleanor assisted Dorab doing clerical work for many years. She returned to the area, living in Park River in her retirement years.
Eleanor will be remembered for her sense of humor and great memory. She was a resource for the past. She enjoyed raising flowers and trying new recipes.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Margaret Dub of Park River, ND; nieces and nephews: Melanie (Mike) Cochran, Randy (Nicole) Dub, Renee (Wes) Midgarden, Chuck Dub, Chadd Dub, and Brian (Nicole) Dub; several cousins also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sister Rose Mary, and her brother-in-law Charlie Dub.
A prayer service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Social Distancing and face masks are required. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
