Felicia Jean Cavanaugh was born on February 25, 1979 in Devils Lake to Rochelle Cavanaugh and the late Kenneth Abraham. She lived most of her life on the Spirit Lake Reservation, where she also received her education. She went to school at Four Winds and Sheyenne Public School for her elementary, middle, and high school years. She later on finished her GED at Little Hoop College, where she then enrolled in College classes pursuing her Computer Technology degree.
On November 26th, 1996 she became a mother to her oldest daughter Keisha Leigh. A year later, she met the love of her life Daniel St.Pierre and began a life with him having five more children together. Felicia and Danny both worked at DTI in Fort Totten and continued to raise their family. After having their first son, they moved to Grand Forks, where they made their home. Felicia then continued her education while attending Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks.
She and her children later returned to the Spirit Lake Reservation. Not too long after moving back, Felicia and her children tragically lost their loving father Danny. Although losing him was tough, she also gained blessings along the way as she started to have grandchildren to love and cherish.
She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, beloved aunt, niece, and cousin. Felicia enjoyed helping her family no matter what the situations were. She had a huge heart and would try to help anyone the best she could. Family meant everything to her, especially her 13 grandchildren. They kept her strong throughout the years. In her own words, "they are my happiness". Felicia fought many silent battles but always loved everyone with everything she had. She had a great sense of humor and always left every conversation with a laugh. She will be forever loved and missed, and always in our hearts.
Felicia is survived by her mother Rochelle Cavanaugh and the only father she knew, Ambrose "Gumby" Lawrence, who raised her since she was two years old. She was proud to call him dad.
