Garnett was born March 29, 1946, to Lester and Millicent (Webb) Eddington. He grew up in the Cavalier area and graduated from Cavalier High School. Garnett was drafted into the United States Army serving in Vietnam. On September 23, 1967, he married Nancy Moritz in Cavalier. After his discharge from the Army, Garnett went on to work for U.S. Border Patrol retiring in 2003.
Garnett enjoyed traveling, especially spending the winter months down south and summers at the lake cabin. He also enjoyed water sports, four-wheeling, collecting antiques, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: Gretta (Ron) Ohmann, Pembina, ND, and Jeremy Eddington, Custer, SD; grandchildren: McKenna (Nick) Nelson, Grayson Ohmann, Karisa Eddington; great-grandchildren: Carter and Carson Eddington; brother, Lester (Lyla) Eddington and sister, June Heneman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother and father-in-law, Wesley and Billie Moritz.
