Grace was born on June 20,1936 on the family farm in the Brown District also known as 1,-G Morden. Grace spent her younger years working on the farm and getting into mischief with her brother Arthur. She married Jim Brooks on June 22, !957 and moved to Morden living on Ninth Street with her mother who also left the farm at that time. Eventually they purchased a house on First Street where she and Jim operated Brooks Lawn and Garden for many years. Grace worked at several jobs over the years, retiring from the Morden Hospital in 1995. Grace enjoyed her large vegetable garden and apple orchard. She also had a love of roses as was evident in her elaborate flower garden which was her pride and joy. Grace also loved to crochet and created many beautiful doilies and table clothes. She loved listening to classic old-time country music like Wilf Carter, and graciously loved to feed anyone that stopped by to visit. Grace also took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren who had her complete attention when they visited.
We would like to thank family and friends who made time to visit Grace, call or send messages that they were thinking of her. We extend our appreciation and gratitude to the caring staff at Tabor Home.
ln lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Katie Cares, a nonprofit group that operates Katie's Cottage, a home away from home for family members of those needing care at Boundary Trails Health Centre.
