Henry J. Siemens Dec 28,1928 – Dec 16,2021
Henry J. Siemens of Winkler, MB passed away peacefully with family by his side at Boundary Trails Health Centre on December 16,2021 shortly before his 93rd birthday. He was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn in February 2017. Henry was baptized upon the confession of his faith on May 18th, 1951. He married Evelyn Thiessen on June 24, 1951 and they remained best friends for almost 66 years. God blessed them with 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Henry and Evelyn farmed in the Horndean area for 27 years, moved to Altona in 1978 for another 27 years and in 2005 moved to Winkler. Each community they lived in brought many treasured and lasting friendships. Henry enjoyed farming with his sons and his interest continued as he drove to each of his children and grandchildren’s farms checking crops and watching the harvest progress. He was current with market prices, new farming equipment and ideas. If there was something he needed to know, he was quick to google it. He was a great conversationalist as he had many areas of interest including politics, sports, family and travel.
His faith in Jesus Christ was lived out in compassion and kindness. He was very thankful for the gift and assurance of salvation. His positive attitude was anchored in his deep hope in Christ. He appreciated listening to sermons and Christian music to know Christ more.
Henry moved to Buhler Place in June 2016 and was blessed by the fellowship of this community. In 2020 Henry required some extra care and moved into the Villages. He brought love and positive energy to this floor and received wonderful care and valued relationships.
On Dec 13, Henry broke his hip and had a stroke while waiting for surgery. He confidently crossed the finish line into the arms of Jesus with his family cheering him on.
