Henry Oliver Stevenson entered his heavenly life at 11:45pm on April 7, 2024 in Seattle, WA with his wife, Susan, by his side.
Henry was born on March 6, 1964 to Wilmar (Willie) and Doris (nee Odermann) Stevenson. He grew up on 40 acres in Akra, which is now considered Cavalier, ND. During this time, he enjoyed fishing, roaming the woods, and hunting.
During the summers, you could find Hank in Montana or Minnesota, traveling with his parents. He loved to go fishing, rock hunting, and riding bike with the neighbor kids. In the winter, he would come back to Cavalier. In his sophomore year of high school, he joined the wrestling team. He joined the National Guard in 1981, graduated from high school in 1982, and went full Army in 1983. Henry served in Company D 5th Engineer Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, from October 1983 to January 1985 Regensburg, Germany Company B 237th Engineers from January 1985-November 1986. He was stationed in Ft Lewis, Company D 15th Engineer from December 1986 to his discharge in May 1989.
Upon separation from the Army, Henry worked in the Local 66 Sheet Metal Union for 23 years before moving to Boeing in 2011- present. Henry was diagnosed on July 11, 2022 with Glioblastoma (brain cancer). Hank was planning on moving to Idaho with his wife of 13 years, Susan, and he loved to travel and
spend time with Susan's family and also with cousins in Oregon.
Henry is survived by his wife Susan, Children Jacob Stevenson (Mom - Janice (Carter) Stevenson), and MacKenzie Stevenson (Mom- Jerri Louise (Markle) Stevenson. Siblings, Don Christian, Patricia (Trish) Clemons, Virginia (Charles) Chandler, and Regina (Harvey Collins) Stevenson. Niece, Christina Clemons, Nephews: Bil (Jana) Clemons, Quincy Clemons, Jake Clemons and Gabriel (Kate) Clemons, John (Lisa) Chandler, and Joe Chandler along with many grandnieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Christian and brother-in-law William (Bill) Clemons.
A memorial service will be screened simultaneously at Askew-Jensen Funeral Home in Cavalier ND on May 18, 2024, with Henry's service in Milton, Washington. The service will start at 1:00 pm, CST.
