Holly Rose Mawby, 58, of Esmond ND, passed away early Sunday morning in her home surrounded by family.
Holly graduated from University of MN Waseca, South Central Technical College, and received a Bachelor’s of Science from Valley City State University. Holly worked for Lake Region Technical College as the Director of Workforce Training in the Northeast District. Holly spent the remainder of her career at Dakota College of Bottineau as the Director of the Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture, devoting her time to the growth of local foods and producers around the state.
Holly married Barry L. Mawby in 1983 in Minot, ND. They had one son, Adam Mawby of Bisbee, ND. Holly and her husband Barry started and operated gardendwellers FARM, growing culinary herbs, fruits and flowers. Holly was a lifelong member of the North Dakota Horticultural Society and a supporter of all horticulture endeavors.
Holly is survived by her husband Barry Mawby, her son Adam (Apryl) Mawby, brother Paul Johnson, sister Sharon Harmel, sister Patricia (John) Gillis, 2 granddaughters Willow and Ember and 9 nieces and nephews.
Holly is preceded in death by her parents, Allen D. and Delores M. Johnson.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice, Farm Rescue or North Dakota State Horticultural Society.
An Open House May Day Celebration of Life for Holly will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at their home in Esmond.
