Jacob Bueckert1943 ~ 2021
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved Dad. He was received into the presence of Jesus on Friday May 21, 2021. Dad was a man of great faith and a man of few words, He was kind, gentle and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a good provider for his family and loved us deeply. His faith in God never wavered and got him through many hard times. He was most content to sit in his rocking chair in the evening and listen to the many Christian radio talk shows on CFAM or quietly sitting in his rocking chair surrounded by his family during the many gatherings.
Jacob Bueckert was born in Mexico to Bernhard and Katharina Bueckert on April 15, 1943. He grew up with 11 siblings in Mexico and in his later teens he moved to Belize. He met the love of his life and moved back to Mexico. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on June 3, 1963 and married Aganetha Hiebert on July 28, 1963. Mom and dad made several moves in between Mexico and Belize over the next several years. They were blessed with seven children during this time. Dad worked hard to provide for his growing family. In 1973, they moved to Ontario Canada, where they were blessed with three more children. While visiting in Manitoba, they found a farmyard in Halbstadt and settled down. They were blessed with their eleventh child which completed their family. Mom and dad lived on the farm in Halbstadt for 31 years. In 2009, they retired and sold the farm and moved to Winkler. Dad adjusted well to town life and thoroughly enjoyed his morning and afternoon coffee times at Tim’s or McDonald’s. Saturday morning coffee in Gretna with is boys was always special to him. October 6, 2012, mom passed away. They were married for 49 years.
June 2, 2013, dad married Elizabeth (nee Kroeker) and they were married for almost eight years. Dad fell ill in April of 2021 and was hospitalized shortly after. Because of underlying health issues such as ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease), dad was not able to recover. With family by his side, he passed away peacefully in the afternoon of May 21, 2021. We grieve but not like those with no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, no crying nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4.
Dad was predeceased by his first wife, Aganetha, two grandsons, two great granddaughters in infancy. He is survived by his eleven children and their families: Justina (Peter), Ben (Helen), Jake (Dorothy), Abe (Tina), Tina (Herman), Nancy (Henry), Peter (Justina), John (Sara), Margaret (Mike), Mary (Tony), Lena (AJ), his second wife, Elizabeth and her four children and their families: Lisa (Elmer), Anna (Pete), Tina (Ed) Dyck (Evelyn) as well as two sisters in Belize, Aganetha Krahn and Katharina (Isaac) Bergen.
We are thankful for the many prayers and all the support for our family during this difficult time. We thank Wiebe Funeral Home for taking care of the arrangements.
