Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at St. Andrew's United Church, Manitou with private family ash interment at the Manitou Cemetery. Donations may be made in Jim's memory to Pembina-Manitou Senior Housing or the Pembina-Manitou Foundation.
James (Jim) Ronald Mitchell was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world on Thursday June 2, 2022 at the age of 71 surrounded by his family.
He was born to Ronald and Hazel Mitchell on August 27, 1950. After high school he started farming with his dad south of Manitou. He then went on to be a trucker and farm equipment salesman. He met and married the love of his life, Pat and together they had four children: Bev (Vince), Angie (Dave), Tami (Mark), and Rick (Krissandra). He was also a grandfather to seven grandchildren: Kassidy, Jaise, Brody, Dylan, Dominic, Anthony and Isabella. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Donald and sister, Ruth.
Jim loved spending time in his shop playing pool and with his many toys….always either repairing or trading and buying something new. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and could be seen hauling them around town in the kinsmen barrels or on toboggans behind his tractor.
