Funeral Services for Jason will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Jason was born on December 20, 1971 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. He was the baby of the family, born to Nick and Donna Streifel. Jason lived in Devils Lake his entire life. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School, Devils Lake Public School and continued his education at Lake Region State College. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake.
A very talented mechanic and electrician when he wanted to be. Jason was the guy to talk to when he worked at TSC for nearly 6 years. You could explain something to him and he knew just what you needed to get your project done. He liked to work on small engines, older vehicles and even rebuilt the motor of his Toyota in his bedroom because it was too cold outside. Over the years he worked at a few different places including the Artclare Motel, JS Vending, Devils Lake Schools and he also cared for his mother as she got older.
Jason truly loved hunting and fishing back in the day, spending time with his dog Gracie and most anything outside. Jason changed his focus in July of 2002 when the light of his life was born. Sierra was his sidekick from the start and was always Jason’s number one.
Jason is survived by his precious daughter Sierra; mother Donna Streifel both of Devils Lake; sister Laurie Walski (Randy Engen) of Tolna ND; sisters-in-law Rita Streifel, Minot ND and Christine Newton, Gillette WY; brother-in-law Allan Hansen, Starkweather ND; aunt Ruth Alexander, Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his loyal dog Gracie.
He was preceded in death by his father Nick Streifel, sister Cyndee Hansen, brothers Cordell Streifel and Kerry Streifel, brother-in-law John Walski, grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Casket Bearers will be Chad Christenson, Scott Bertsch, Scott Aus, Seth Hansen, Brandon Walski and Jerome Ziegler.
