He was born Jaymes Charles Almond in Grafton North Dakota on July 13, 1976, the son of Audrey Kliniske and Charles Almond.
Jaymes grew up and attended school in Grafton. His longest years of employment were as a custodian at North Valley Career & Technology and then Grafton Central School. He also held many other job positions in Grafton such as a cook at Granny's, team-shift leader at Pamida, the Insulation Place, Wally's and Hugo's, Associated Potatoes, among others.
Jaymes' greatest love and joy was raising his daughter Madison. He loved the outdoors; especially fishing, grilling and camping with his daughter in his "pavilion." His enormous heart and compassion for others showed through with his many years of charity involvement to St. Jude's Hospital, the Wounded Warriors Project, the Smile Train, and the Christian Relief. Jim was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and he served as a volunteer lay minister for the Walsh County Law Enforcement Center.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Madison Brott, Grand Forks ND, mother Audrey Almond and father Charles Almond, Grafton ND, sisters Angela Almond, Grand Forks ND, Cathy (and Bill) Jacobsen, Harrisburg SD, nieces Tawny (and Austen) Gillis, Sioux Falls SD, Tory Jacobsen, Harrisburg SD, and nephew Dane Jacobsen, Harrisburg SD.
A private family mass will be held at a future date. Inurnment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
