
Carol SandulakOn Friday, June 18, 2021, Carol Ann Sandulak, nee Worden, aged 77 years, beloved wife of Joe Sandulak of Carman, MB, passed away at the Boundary Trails Health Centre after a brief illness.Carol is survived by her two children Alexander and Terry, along with many extended relatives on both sides of the family. Her husband Joe Sandulak followed and passed June 20, 2021.Her brother Ted Worden (Barb) passed Aug 6, 2006.Growing up initially in Crystal City, she then moved to Carman along with her parents John and Edna (nee Shore) Worden. She pursued a career as a hairdresser and worked at different times at hair salons/barbershops in Carman and did haircuts and perms at her home-based salon her entire adult life. She forged many friendships with long time repeat customers.Carol met her husband to be Joe Sandulak, kitty corner across the street where he lived with his parents in Carman. Carol and Joe married on Nov 6, 1965 and moved out to the grain farm in Sperling where she raised two children and helped farm. Carol served as a school board trustee for the Sperling area from 1983 to 1989 in the Midland School Division.Considered by many to be a master gardener, she had a passion for gardening and growing beautiful flowerbeds. Carol competed with entries in many flower shows, including the Carman Fair, winning Best Flower Arrangement in 1999 from the Carman Horticultural Society and Best Arrangement of Vegetables three years running 1999 to 2001. Eventually moving up the ladder she became a judge for flower shows.Was part of a small group that ran the Sperling Arena Bingo, a going concern in the small community whose purpose was to generate funds for the Sperling Arena. Participated in CGIT (Christian Girls In Training) and 4-H helping youth with self-improvement.Special thanks to the wonderful medical staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre for their care.

On Sunday, June 20, 2021, Joseph Alexander Sandulak, aged 86 years, beloved husband of Carol Sandulak, nee Worden, of Carman, MB, passed away at the Carman Memorial Hospital.Joe is survived by his two children Alexander and Terry, sister-in-law Betty Sandulak, along with many extended relatives on both sides of the family. He was predeceased two days prior by his wife Carol Sandulak (passed June 18, 2021), parents Alex and Yustyna; three infant sisters, Marika, Pearl and Cecilia; brothers, Peter, John, William (Bill), and Stanley; sisters, Marie, Anne, Doreen and Olga; brothers-in-law, Roy Bausman, Garth Pickell and Frances Ribordy, sisters-in-law Joyce, Wilma, and Irma (Terry) Sandulak.Joe was born at a hospital in Winnipeg on June 29, 1934 to Alex and Yustyna (nee Lewco), the second youngest of the nine living children. He grew up on the family farm, first near Mollard and then near Sperling. He farmed with his dad and eventually took over the farm.Joe tried a variety of jobs in the winter season over his many years: bakers assistant in Winnipeg, on a crew maintaining telegraph posts for the railway, ran a school bus route in the Sperling area where he used a team of horses to pull a sleigh in winter, pulling up cross arms for the assembly of high voltage hydro lines for Manitoba Hydro, delivering fuel to farms for CO-OP, helping build grain cleaning equipment at Simon-Day in Winnipeg, and care taker for Sperling Arena, just to name a few.Retired from farming in 1990 and moved to a beautifully treed river bottom yard on the outskirts of Carman. Started his second run as a bus driver for the Roseisle and Stephenfield area delivering the kids to schools in Carman, retiring Aug 3, 2004, after 10 years. He enjoyed the daily interactions with the kids and will be fondly remembered for spoiling them the last day before Christmas break and the last day of school each summer, with treats.Special thanks to the wonderful medical staff at the Carman Memorial Hospital and Boundary Trails Health Centre for their care.
