Judy was born in Grafton, ND in 1942 to James and Doris (Miller) Trenda. She was raised on a farm west of Lankin in Latona Township. She attended grade school at the Latona Country School and graduated from Lankin Public High School in 1960. Following graduation she was united in marriage to Herman Bosh on August 1, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Judy was a bookkeeper for the Farmers Union Oil Company where she worked alongside Herman for many years. She later worked for the Walsh County Nutrition Program as the site cook, Walsh County Outreach and Walsh County Health. Judy then worked for the First Care Health Center in Park River as the Activities Director for Swing Bed. She retired after 25 years to take care of her husband Herman. Judy thoroughly loved every person, the families she served and they loved her as well.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Lankin American Legion Auxiliary and Lankin Senior Citizens. In the earlier years Herman and Judy enjoyed dancing as member of the Czech Polka Dancers.
Judy lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Judy is survived by her daughters: Heidi (John) Gustafson, Adams, ND and Gretchen (Darren) Asperheim, Larimore, ND; son-in-law, Randy Jehlicka, Fordville, ND; eight grandchildren: Aaron (Sarah) Gustafson, Thompson, ND; Casey (Dakota) Gustafson, West Fargo, ND; Kevin (Amber) Gustafson, Devils Lake, ND; Ryan (Tesa) Ryba, Park River, ND; Kelsey (Roy Rico) Ryba, Scottsdale, AZ; Zachary Ryba, Grand Forks, ND; Hope (Adam Faul) Jehlicka, Grand Forks, ND; Jace Jehlicka, Fargo, ND; seven great grandchildren: Jordan and Nora Gustafson, Dylan, Caitlyn and Summer Ryba, Mila and Emily Rico. Judy is also survived by her siblings: Gary (Anne) Trenda, Grand Forks, ND; Albert (Vicki) Trenda, Grafton, ND; Jim Trenda, Grand Forks, ND; Ann (Larry) Omdahl, Fordville, ND along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman, infant son Joseph, son Bryce and daughter Bridgette Jehlicka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Feb. 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Lankin. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
