Julia Esther Reck was born on November 13, 1939 in Langdon, ND to Earl and Agnes brown. She was born ninth of 14 siblings. Julia was raised and attended high school in Cavalier, ND.
On September 4, 1958 Julia married Dale Reck. Dale and Julia were blessed with five children: the late Steven Reck, Susan (Pat) Mattson, Scott (Missy) Reck, Shelly (Dennis) Froom, and Shauna (Dennis) Erickson. The Lord also blessed her with many grandchildren: Derrick (Teresa) Reck, Kayla Loughead, Vanessa Loughead, Shawnee Reck, Larissa (Tyler) Haug, Alayna (Beau) Brown, Nicholas (Brandi) Reck, Riley Froom, Amanda Erickson, Brendan Erickson, and Cassie Erickson, as well as precious great-grandchildren. Julia was most proud of her children and cherished her grandchildren. Through the years, Julia was a homemaker and worked as a waitress, care giver, and later as a custodian at the Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton, ND. She was a hard worker and had an empathetic heart towards every person she encountered. Julia loved music, dancing, and people. About 15 years ago, Julia was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, which took a toll on her mind and body, but did not weaken her zest for life. She will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, unconditional love, and boundless grace.
There will be a visitation at the Tollefson Funeral Home in Grafton, ND from 1-1:30 PM on Thursday, May 26th, 2022 with a prayer service at 1:30 PM. Interment at St. Brigid’s Catholic Cemetery in Cavalier, ND to follow the service.
