Karen Kae Brown was born on March 19, 1961 to Phyllis Faith (Ward) and LeRoy Karl Brown in Hendricks, MN. Karen spent her childhood in Elkton SD and graduated from Elkton High School. As an adult raising her 4 kids, she moved to different states to support her family. She was a woman of many talents; she drove truck all over the country, was a CNA in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wyoming and after moving to Devils Lake in 2002 she worked at R&R Computer, One Stop Gas Station, CDSP for REM, CNA at Heartland Care Center and the Good Samaritan Center and was presently employed with Cenex Travel Plaza.
Karen loved to crochet and loved to give her beautiful creations to family and friends. She especially treasured spending time with her family, her 4 kids, 3 step-kids, 11 grandchildren, her sister and 3 nieces and nephews. After moving to Devils Lake, Karen was happily united in marriage to Walter Buhler on August 25, 2012.
Karen is survived by her loving family. Her husband Walter, her precious children Jerry, Amanda, Jon and Lacey, step-children Vanessa, Travis (Chantel) and Natasha, her eleven beautiful grandchildren, dear sister Carol (Greg) Jensen, three nieces and nephews and many people that she call her kids even though they were not, they had the privilege to call her Mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
